AUSTAR is committed to managing our operations to ensure we limit our impact on the environment. While the organisation does not have a significant carbon emissions impact, we will continue to support initiatives that encourage our employees, and help us as a company to operate in a more efficient, less wasteful way.

To us it just makes sense.

We’ve continued our company and employee commitment towards reducing our impact on the environment. A 13 member cross functional team oversees activities and projects with the aim of sensible reduction.

We see this as a long-term commitment, and know that the changes we make today will benefit us in future.
In December 2009 we signed an agreement with the Minister for the Environment which will see us continue to reduce our set-top box emissions.

We have built a code of practice into our product development code that will ensure that any new products and services are produced in the most efficient and friendly manner. We have also undertaken to ensure our suppliers adhere to their own codes of conduct around the environment. Having seen regional communities pull together to achieve goals, we know that if industry pulls together, we can achieve significant reductions in Australia’s carbon emissions.
